Summary

All visual adjustment tests are passed when using Bookshare Reader with Microsoft Edge. The quick settings view provides easy access to some of the most used visual adjustments. The ability to either choose from themes or personalize the colors is appreciated. The visual adjustments are retained when reading a different book in the same browser on the same device. Evaluated on Windows 11 22H2 with Microsoft Edge Version 108.0.1462.76 (64-bit).

All aspects of the User Interface such as Menus, Pop-up Windows, Dialog Boxes and Search Box should get magnified uniformly. Pass The browser zoom (ctrl + and -) increases the text size, as well as the graphical buttons and the text in the dialogs.
visual-510 Change Font Choose from a selection of fonts, including sans-serif and serif options. Pass In the "quick set" panel in the settings dialog there are "font" options of book default, Atkinson Hyperlegible and Helvetica. The "text" panel provides additional font styles.

ReadAloud-510 Text to Speech handles punctuations and document structure appropriately When Read Aloud is activated, there should be slight pauses after headings, list items etc., rather than reading as if it is one continuous section of text. Pass The pauses are included as expected. List items are announced as such (for example, "list item two of three").
ReadAloud-610 Text is emphasised as it is spoken by read aloud Check if the Text is emphasised as it is spoken by read aloud. Pass The text has a colored highlight for the word and the sentence as they are read aloud.
ReadAloud-710 The emphasis or highlight colour can be changed Activate Read Aloud feature as described in the previous test. Change the colour of emphasis or visual highlight of the text being read aloud using any feature available in the reading system or the operating system. The users should have a choice of different colours for text highlighting. Pass The colors can be customized, so the word highlighting or sentence highlighting can effectively be disabled if so desired.
