Books Voiceover iOS FAIL The main difficulty is that Voiceover does not announce the text to be activated as a link. On tapping it the focus moves to top of target page and the return link also brings focus to the bar chart.

Bookshare Reader Chrome macOS PASS
Bookshelf Chrome Windows PASS The link is visible, and when it is followed the display moves to the correct position in the title.

Bookshelf Voiceover Safari macOS PASS The link does take you to the new page with the extended description. Upon arrival you are told "Description of Bar Chart" which is correct and you can start moving into the content directly which was completely accessible. The link back to the original image worked correctly and you are placed where you were originally on the link to the extended description.
Bookshelf macOS PASS This works as expected. The link takes the display to the extended description and the other link takes it back again to the correct spot.
Bookshelf JAWS 2020 Chrome Windows FAIL The back link does not take you to the place where you started.

Clusive NVDA Windows FAIL The link is activated, but you are taken to a fedback dialogue, which interrupted the reading experience.
Colibrio Reader TalkBack Android FAIL The link was announced correctly, and when followed the focus went to the correct section. On using the back link Talkback reading can be started only from top of screen containing the target text.
Colibrio Reader NVDA Chrome Windows PASS Linking works fine.
EBSCO Reader Jaws Chrome Windows PASS Works as expected.
EasyReader Android PASS Works as expected. The link is visible and can be followed to the extended description, and back again.
EasyReader Voiceover iOS FAIL The hyperlink activation is not working with Voiceover. The link can be detected and activated but the destination page is not displayed.

EasyReader TalkBack Android FAIL The “follow for extended description” link when activated does not show the destination page.
EasyReader (German) TalkBack Android FAIL Generally, there are issues with the hyperlink navigation.
EasyReader (German) Voiceover iOS PASS I can activate the link and read the extended description placed in a separate HTML file. Through the link back to the main content I reach the same location where I left off. This only works by using an assistive technology.
Kindle TalkBack Android FAIL Cannot activate hyperlink with Talkback.
Kindle Voiceover iOS FAIL The hyperlinks are not recognized by Voiceover.
Kindle NVDA Windows PASS It is difficult to detect and activate the link with screen reader. The screen reader links navigation commands are not supported. This can be improved. However, when link is activated, NVDA focus moves to the correct location.

Play Books Voiceover iOS FAIL On using the back link the Voiceover reading cannot be started from correct position even though it is visible on screen.
Play Books TalkBack Android FAIL The focus does not go to the desired heading although image description can be read from beginning since it is the only content on the page. The back link takes focus to the top of page where link was activated.
RedShelf Chrome Windows PASS The links are displayed as expected, and Thorium displays the extended description and visually returns to the correct place in the publication as expected.
RedShelf Voiceover Safari macOS 10.14 PASS You are brought back to the correct place Amy's Experience: but when you have to reopen the iframe it brings you to the top of the page. So going to the extended description is fine since it is at the top of the new page. However, on returning back to the image in the book it is being read at the right place but once you try to open that iframe it jumps to the top. It might be a VO/Safari issue which focuses automatically at the top of the page. Charles: brought back to the correct location with Voice over Running, so not sure why Amy's required her to open back up the iframe.
RedShelf NVDA Chrome Windows PASS Unlike the test in non-visual book, the back link here brings the NVDA focus to the correct location. Probably this is because the destination text is a paragraph of its own and not inline or because it is at the end of the document.
RedShelf Jaws Chrome Windows PASS Unlike the hyperlink test in non-visual test book, the bakc link here does bring the focus to the right location. It could have something to do with the link text being a separate paragraph or at the end of the document.
RedShelf Voiceover iOS PASS Works as required.
RedShelf TalkBack Android PASS Works as required. The Talkback focus returns to correct location.
Texthelp ePub Reader Edge Windows FAIL The link to the extended description does not work.

Thorium Reader macOS PASS Navigating to / from the extended description as expected. Read Aloud accurately reads the extended description and links to and from the additional content.
Thorium Reader Voiceover macOS PASS The link does take you to the new page with the extended description. You are placed at the top of the page and the heading is read and you can navigate immediately through the extended description, which is what I would expect to happen. However clicking on the backlink had a small issue. You are taken back to the initial link to the extended description and this is read correctly and you can activate it again to get back to the extended description which is expected behavior. However, when you try to move off this link you can't and trying to exit from this link brings you back up one level and you must interact again with the content which brings you back to the top of the page where you must select the hidden "underscore underscore" to get back to the link where you can finally navigate past this link element.
Thorium Reader NVDA Windows PASS The links to the correct locations are working correctly.
Thorium Reader Jaws Windows PASS The links take you to the exact location.
Thorium Reader (German) Jaws Windows FAIL This tests fails because after selecting the link back to the image, I don’t reach the exact reading position where I left off but at the bottom of the page. However, the navigation works smoothly and I can read the extended describtion placed in a separate file.
